David Pearson BA (Hons)
Award Winner David Pearson graduated with a degree in Performing Arts in 1995 from the University of East Anglia. For over ten years David has worked extensively across North Wales producing and directing stage and video productions in education for pre and post 16 pupils. He also has an extensive knowledge and experience of television production practice and when his busy schedule allows, enjoys working as a supporting artist, most recently appearing in BBC Wales, Doctor Who.
David is CRB checked, who is a fully experienced and qualified Youth Theatre Practitioner who is able to facilitate and coordinate the following services:
Drama Workshops
Available as a one-off or as a series of weekly workshops. The workshops can be general or specific and can be devised to suit the aims and objectives of a given project or theme.
Forum Theatre Workshops/Performances
An interactive theatre form that involves the participation of the audience. Successfully practised as a unique educational format for social issues. Can be produced on any theme as a visiting performance or produced in-house as a project with young people:

A wide range of drama programmes can be devised to meet the needs of a particular project or budget.
Additional Needs Developmental Drama Programmes
David Pearson is fully experienced in devising and facilitating developmental programmes for secondary school pupils lacking in confidence and self-esteem.

David is fully trained as an actor appearing in a range of roles including 'Harry Brewer' in 'Our Country's Good by Timberlake Wertnbaker and 'Romeo' In 'Romeo and Juliet'
Previous Work
Annual Performing Arts Simulation Programme
Devised and facilitated a week long annual Performing Arts Simulation programme for Careers Wales North West, held at the Pavilion Theatre Rhyl. The programme enabled 50 yr10 pupils across Denbighshire and Conwy to access a work experience opportunity which offered a range of workshops including drama, dance, performance history and technical theatre accumulating towards an end of week performance to the public.
Additional Needs Drama Workshops
Devised and facilitated a ten week drama project to develop groups of additional needs clients across secondary schools in Denbighshire and Conwy. This included the production of a performance piece or film i.e. extracts from Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood.
GCSE Drama Workshops
Provided temporary cover for GCSE drama Ysgol John Bright, Llandudno, Conwy
Youth Theatre Director
Established The Street Wise Theatre Company in collaboration with Denbighshire Education, Youth and Community Service. Wrote and devised issue based plays, delivered weekly workshops and rehearsals to groups of young people aged between 14-19. Organised all aspects of company including production management, finance and marketing. Wrote, directed and toured four issued based productions around festivals, schools and youth centres in

Other Theatre & Television Work
October 2006 Doctor Who, BBC Wales - Role: Supporting Artist for an episode called the Lazurus Experiment. Involved five 12 hour night shoots at the Assemby Buildings Wales and the Wales Museum.
November 2001. Professional Work Experience - Merseyside Television. As Production Assistant David undertook duties for Merseyside Television on the set of Brookside. This enabled him to gain a full understanding of the methodology of production to cascade hands-on information to young people about work in the industry.
1996-1997 Theatr Clwyd, Flintshire. Stage Crew member, duties included flying, scene changes, rigging, lighting and fit-ups and strikes.
